Dear Reader,

It's 4 years since my dear friend Farai passed. 4 years and 172 days to be specific on the 16.11.2021

It's one of the events in my life that really shaped the way I live.

To share a little of her story;

With a medical degree and MBA, Farai worked as a high-powered exec working 14-16 hour days most days. On her 39th birthday, she called to tell me that she was quitting her job and she wanted to have a child, even though she didn't a partner.

And she did exactly that. She quit her +$2m salary and all that went with it to have IVF.

Apparently it was written in the stars because just a year later Zion was born. It's the happiest I've ever seen someone.

Then I moved to Spain and she was busy mothering and I was busy starting my life here.

Then one day out of the blue she called me.

The textbook “I hope you're sitting down because I've got news” story.

I've got Stage 4 cancer she said matter-of-factly.

A year later she passed. She was brave and valient and really showed me that life is such a precious gift that we have to take advantage.

In this light I recently took 2 days to go on a trip with my dear friend Bernado. What a magical 2 days.

So my message to you today is don't wait to live. Maybe you can't do the lifetime dream trip to Italy, but maybe you can take a night away in a local town. Maybe you can't take a week, maybe just a day…

Whatever you do, do what makes you happy and with those who bring your heart to life because at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

There's a saying in Spanish “La vida son 4 dias". It means life is short (4 days).

True story that. Wishing you every blessing for them.

Lisa

2 Things

01. Ode to friendship
True friends will carry your soul when you do not seem to have the strength to do so.

In no specific order, my deepest gratitude to my friends for you. You know who you are.

Os quiero con todo mi corazón. Love you with all my heart.

02. Doing things that scare you
Lately I've been doing alot of things that scare me but that bring me to life.

I guess it's true what they say, life often lives outside your comfort zone.

Don't wait.

Wish I could post all the pics of all my dearest friends here. Just know I love you guys so much!
